Offered for sale is a Phase Linear 4000 Autocorrelation Preamplifier for parts or repair only. Given to me by its original owner, the unit was unused and in protected storage for at least 20 years. When I attempted to turn it on, although the relay engages, absolutely nothing happens - no sound or operation of any sort. I checked the rear external fuse which seems to be OK, but beyond that I am incapable of testing or determining any other issues. It could be a very minor issue, or not - so its for parts or repair only.On the other hand, the preamp is very clean and cosmetically at least a 9/10, for its age. All knobs, switches, and the power cord are present and original, and feel like they operate normally, at least mechanically. There are no dents, dings, scratches, bent metal or missing paint, and the faceplate lettering is intact. The only physical flaw I could find was a small crack in the plastic collar which surrounds one of the RCA jacks on the rear. I checked the unit inside, and it is relatively dust free, with all the circuit boards in place, free of rust, but with no issues I could determine with a naked eye. The unit (when operating) features extraordinary and unique signal handling and routing, great sound, and was designed by Bob Carver.Selling as is, for parts or repair.
