Philippine Bowie-Dagger Fighting knife, 13 5/8\" long, with 9 5/8\" blade. The blade is flat on one side, with median ridge on the other, sharpened on both sides, with file worked section just ahead of the guard. The brass guard is nicely scalloped, with an octagonal brass ferrule behind the guard. Fine dark mahogony or similar octagonal shaped swell center handle, with flat brass octagonal pommel cap. There is a small triangular section on the front where a shield of some sort probably nestled. The blade appears to be full, with sharpening marks and some light patina, but no noticeable pitting. Wood scabbard, mostly covered with sewn fine leather, with enlarged throat and tip. The tip shows some wear and is worn. This is a quality knife in excellent condition.
