A majority of the photos were taken in my own backyard. I had three ponds and natural landscaping years ago, when the photos were taken. This provided me with many natural photographic backgrounds. Most of the frogs that have been photographed could be hand fed. The many birds were use to being fed between plants to create a nice background. One of the black squirrels in the photos was named “Ashes”. She came to me as a baby that I bottle fed in 2001, and then released in the area. She raised many babies after that.

The photographer of this photo is Carol Ely, she has stated the below comment about her and her photos –

I have always felt a strong connection and appreciation of the natural beauty that can be found everywhere we go. My attraction to nature and wildlife has allowed me to study and care for many different types of animals over the years (part-time wildlife rehabilitator when younger). I have developed a goal and passion to capture the real life essence of nature’s beauty through photography. I hope to present through the photos, images of nature’s beauty in real life close encounters that I have had. Note: All subjects were thanked, and some fed for being so kind as to allow me to photograph themJ

Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to know the story behind any photo, I would be happy to explain. Carol Ely
