McCowan, Ft Mojave This is part of a large archive of historical material including period photographs, documents, letters, newspaper articles, etc. relating to the life and service of Samuel M. McCowan (1862-1924), the Indian Agent in charge of the Fort Mojave Indian School, Arizona Territory, in the late 1800s and early 1900s.There is also material relating to various Indian tribes participating in the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. Some of the photographs are quite faded, and some of the paper is badly damaged.This is a Kodak photograph album filled with 12 sepia toned 5 1/2”x 8”photographs and 64 3 3/4”x 4 1/2”sepia toned photographs of the Arizona Territory and the Mojave Indian School from the period between about 1890 and 1910, or so when it was run by Indian Agent Samuel M. McCowan. Photographs are in generally good condition with some fading, and several of the pages from the album are loose from the binding. There are several outdoor scenes of Arizona Territory, school buildings, Indian students, classrooms, and military like formations in a courtyard, etc,This is part of a larger archive of historical material.Shipping is $15.00 Priority mail within the US, and any insurance coverage is at the buyer\'s option and expense (required on most breakable items).
