ANTIQUE WOODEN PITCAIRN ISLAND SOUVENIR

HAND SPILL VASE

A SPILL VASE WAS USED TO HOLD A STRIP OF WOOD OR PAPER FOR LIGHTING CANDLES

This lovely spill vase measures about 9 1/2\" high, generally nice condition, some age wear and some imperfections to the wood here and there. There is a chip out of the rim, see pics, maybe able to be fixed, or just consider it part of its charm and history :) Doesn\'t really detract from how nice this vase is. Carved into the vase \" True Love Can Never Die A Souvenir From Pitcairn\". This vase is a bit heavier than the others I\'m listing and will probably ship at the 2-3 lb option, if it comes in less, once it\'s boxed, I will credit back the difference in shipping. Sold as is :)

\" Curious early to mid 20th Century hand carved Miro wood vase made on Pitcairn Island. Formed as a hand holding a spill cup, these vases were sold as souvenirs to the relatively few travelers who ventured to the remote island. Pitcairn Island is famous as the landing place of the Bounty mutineers, led by Fletcher Christian. The artists who crafted these vases, along with all the inhabitants of the island, are descended from the mutineers. These lovely vases are carved from a solid block of Miro wood, a native species to the island and are stamped \"Made in Pitcairn\" \" Info. found on the internet.

Shipping policy

I ship generally within 1-2 business days of payment. The majority of packages are shipped USPS Priority Mail. I may add a small handling fee for packaging, generally between .50 and 1.00, when I use purchased packaging material, and skip it when using recycled or USPS free boxes. Other forms of shipping are possible depending on the situation, feel free to let me know if a different carrier would work better for you. I’m happy to combine shipping if you would like to purchase more than one item from me. If you do purchase multiple items from me, please wait for me to send you a combined item invoice before paying.

Some shipping quotes are my best guess, if my quote is over the actual paid shipping, I generally refund the difference, less any packaging fees. If I quote under the actual shipping price, I’m happy to pay the difference myself!

Return policy

Unless otherwise noted in my listings, item(s) may be returned for a full refund within 14 days of receipt. No questions asked. Item(s) must be returned in the same condition they were sent, prior to a refund being credited back to buyer. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Return shipping must utilize the same shipping method I used, generally USPS Priority mail, and requires delivery confirmation.

Please note, if I’ve grossly misrepresented an item, I will cover all shipping costs. With that said, please read my policies regarding the description of antique, vintage, and used items below.

Describing Used Items:

I purchase a wide array of items, mostly pre-owned, vintage, or collectible, in various conditions, and with unknown histories, I simply cannot claim they haven’t been altered, enhanced, etc. Most of these items will show age wear and patina, which might include scuffs, light mars and scratches, small nicks, yellowing, etc., so PLEASE ACCEPT THE POSSIBILITY OF SLIGHT IMPERFECTIONS prior to offerding or purchasing. With that said, I do make every effort to describe any imperfections and take lots of pictures for buyer viewing. Please view photos carefully and ask all questions prior to purchasing.
