"This family group of three persons represents the family of the painter. It is a souvenir which Dubufe has wished to keep in his own home, and it is one of his first portraits. The oldest child holds the youngest, and is playing at being "mama"."
This plate was included in a Limited Edition, eight volume, folio sized set of books entitled
Art of the World; published in 1893. I\'ve included a scan of the title/limitation page below.
Please note: Although the official copyright date of this publication is 1893, I noticed that a handful of the items included actually have a date of 1894.
