Offered here Pair Large Antique circa 19th c. Paint decorated Metal/Spelter Ladies Statue/Figurines or Clock these are in fact Ansonia side statues.
They are called Art and Commerce and are circa 1880. You actually have the earlier versions, as the design for these changed around 1904
Garniture/side pieces now mounted and wired as Lamps.
The casting will amaze anyone,. as you can see the faces, the fingers the fabric on the clothes are almost real
what was achieved only with the \"LOST WAX\" casting.
I see no damage or repairs to the figurine,. both figurines are in good condition but one base has missing tip of the back foot as show pic#4 and 4.
Statues standing on classical with four gargoyle feet bases .
I couldn\'t find any markings,. but pretty sure it was a clock garniture.
Beautiful statues and will make perfect garniture for the Great American like Ansonia Mantel clock just unscrew the nut underneath and you\'ll have two statues!!
That simple! And you keep the posts in case one day you want them as lamps again! :)
Ansonia Clocks are still could be purchased once in a while, but garniture to the clock will be very hard to find.Last pictures show item listed separately!
