Pre-1900 Pair of estate found 18th c style porcelain figures of children, dandy boy and girl playing a hurdy gurdy. incised marks on bottoms and number 48 impressed on her figure. Hand-painted decoration on both. Each measures approx. 5\" tall. These are heavy and solid feeling pieces. There is a hole on tree trunk on each of them. I don\'t know if this was a firing vent hole or something was attached like a candleholder at one time?? She has a missing strap that goes from her shoulder to the hurdy gurdy and a missing finger. He has something missing from his right hand, like a flower or something, there is a spot of roughness there..he also has part of his bow missing on back of his head... Wonderful little pair of 18th c children.
