Up for sale is a great piece of early Burlington, Iowapre prohibitionsaloon history.

Its in the form of a label only saloon whiskey fifth from the TAEGER DRUG & LIQUOR COMPANY in Burlington, Iowa.

It once held ELK FORD Perfectly Pure WHISKEY !!!

According to old city directories that I\'ve researched and other online resources, Raymond Taeger established this liquor business in 1908 at 115 North 3rd in Burlington, IA. In 1911 a saloon was also started upin conjunction with the store liquor business.The saloon and store operated until 1916 when the Iowa prohibition laws shut them down.

Height is about 11-1/2 inches, about 3 inches in diameter, held a fifth of whiskey.

Its a little dusty and dirty like it was found underneath a building, but, no damage whatsoever to the bottle, label is rough but still pretty readable, does have some missing places- see photos below.

Still corked with probable original dried residue inside.

Absolutely an excellent piece of early Burlington, Iowapre-pro liquor or Saloon history.
