July 31, 1939-Dated, Outstanding Religious / Bible Content, Typed Letter Signed, \"Franklin D. Roosevelt\" as President, 1 page, Octavo, upon official \"The White House\" stationery letterhead, measuring 7\" x 8.75\", Choice Very Fine. It reads, in full:\"To the Massachusetts Bible Society -- Boston, Massachusetts.I am glad to reaffirm my faith in the Bible as the ever present revelation of the Divine Will. I am among the unnumbered hosts who know the peace which come to those who turn to the Bible for help. It remains today what it has been throughout countless centuries: a fountain of strength, a source of never ending comfort and inspiration. - (Signed) Franklin D. Roosevelt\".Written just weeks before the start of World War II in Europe, Roosevelt\'s reliance on the Bible for spiritual strength and guidance is evident. The ongoing mission of the Massachusetts Bible Society, to which this letter is addressed, has been the sale and distribution of Bibles throughout New England and, in the early days of its existence, visiting the immigrant population at the Boston docks. Most impressive, the superb full signature \"Franklin D. Roosevelt\" is massive and boldly written, measuring 4\" long!
