Meet Mister Tibbs & his Horse Jigs

The Story: I love folk and primitive toys. There is something wonderful, playful and naïve about the lack of proportion and perspective that went into their creation. Mister Tibbs and his horse Jigs were inspired by hours and hours spent on Pinterest looking at photos of folk and Americana carved dolls and horses.
Mister Tibbs is hand carved and jointed in the manner of old limberjack, jigger dancing dolls and colored using wood stains, shoe polishes and varnished like he would have been if made 100 years ago when these would have been the only coloring tools available to the carver. And, I also wanted the beautiful wood grain to show through so chose to only use paint on his face. He has a removable stand because his joints are intentionally loose so he doesn\'t stand alone easily.
Jigs is carved in a primitive style with an elongated torso and neck and smallish head. His tail is made from real hair.
Other Details: Mister Tibbs and his horse Jigs were hand carved by my husband/partnerAe from 100 year old Teak wood and painted/stained by me,Holly. Mister Tibbs stands 8 inches tall without his stand and is jointedat the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Jigs stands 9 inches tall and 10 inches long. We ship via Registered First Class International mail. The cost is $35 and takes about 10-15 business days. We can also ship express mail which costs about $90 and takes 4 to 8 working days. Payment is expected w/in 2 days of the sale ending and we will ship w/in three working days. Our dolls come from a smoke free but dog loving home. That said, the poochie bellas are not allowed in the doll studio.
