Primitive Folk Art Carved Oxen and Cart – American – Original Paint – AAFA – New England

This is a very exciting piece of folk art. The two hand carved and painted oxen pull the hand carved and pegged cart and are attached by at carved yoke. Folk art like this not common to come across and I am very proud to be offering this item for sale in my store. This comes from an old northern Vermont estate of a folk art dealer and collector. This is one of the pieces he chose to keep for himself.

As you can see in the pictures there are some areas of damage to the cows and yoke, however this piece stands on it own as true antique American folk art. It is rare that items with this much character and charm come fresh onto the market.

Each cow is 8.5” long and 5” tall.

The cart body measures 11” by 7”

With the cows hitched to the cart the total length is 21.5”
