Primitive Thanksgiving Pumpkin Needle Punch on Vintage Oil Can, Fall, Autumn:

This designwas punched on weaver\'s cloth with 6 strands of over-dyed DMC floss.

It was machine-sewn to a wool fabric backing & stuffed with polyfil. The wool backing was felted & over-dyed for a rich shade of orange.

The pumpkin was then attached to a vintage metal oil can with Lithuanian linen cord. The stem is a cinnamon stick. The leaves are of an over-dyed, green, plaid wool fabric.

In size, the punch needle pumpkin is about6\" x4 1/2\". Total height of the pumpkin on the oil can is about 8 1/4\".

The piece is further embellished with little rusty stars on wire & a vintage rusty key.

The oil can was thoroughly cleaned & the spout was filled with hot wax to seal it.
