There may have been another use for this old handmade wooden box, but I don\'t know what, other than it was used in the Stovall Hardware store like a step stool. The box is made of old boards nailed together with a metal cabinet pull for carrying it. The box doesn\'t open.
The writing on it is: Stovall Hardware Co.

Chattanooga, Tenn.
The building where the hardware store was located is also the former home of Martin-Thompson Sporting Goods.
The box is 22 1/2\" x 7 1/2\" x 8 1/2\". It is in good condition. There is a crack in one board. Please see all of the photos.
