This sale Listing is for a set of 3 Prints of Early Medical Devices: Fleam, Blistering Agents, and Trepan. The Prints are individually signed on the reverseby Christopher Heron, and dated: 1/81 (1981). I could not find any information about the artist. Each print measures 9 3/4ths inches square.

The first print of the Antique Medical Devices Collection is of a \"Fleam\", circa: 1780. It was a primitive surgical knife specifically designed for bloodletting, used to treat the symptoms of respiratory infection, depression, as well as other complaints.

The second print is of Blistering Agents, circa: 1780. This medical device was for the symptomatic treatment of respiratory congestion, blistering agents, such as cantharides, pure acetic acid, ammonia, or chloroform were spread on a cloth and applied to the skin as counterirritants.

The third print is a Trepan, circa:1865. This medical device was a cylindrical saw used for the symptomatic treatment of mental disorders and severe headaches through removal of a section of bone from the patient\'s unanesthetized skull.

Condition is very good, with minor corner damaged, and one pin hole on the edge of the Fleam. Neither will show when framed. Please view the photo gallery for more information and additional description facts.
