A rare first issue 1922 Prohibition Prescription stub for1 Pint of Whiskey...1 tablespoonful every 4 hr...for La Grippe (the flu)!Please see photos!This prescription stub is also rare as this particular issue had to be returned to the government and 99.9% were returned! It also gives us an insight as to why whiskey was being prescribed!This stub was originally attached to the FIRST of five prescriptions, issued by the Treasury Department during the Prohibition. It is the ONLY prescription stub in which, \"His street and No.\" was printed below the address line, while just as many women were having liquor prescriptions filled.From the days of Al Capone, speakeasies and moonshine, this was the only legal way to drink liquor in the US!The whiskey was prescribed for L. H. Baldwin, of Leonardsville, NY, by Dr. Edwin C. Granger, of Unadilla Forks, NY on May 23, 1922. It was issued by the Treasury Department and measures 4\" x 3.5\".The prescription stub has age toning (not pure white) and a small tear on the left border, otherwise, condition is excellent...a great medicinal whiskey script from the Prohibition years!This is a FANTASTIC piece of history and would be wonderful to display in a pharmacy, wine cellar, distillery, speakeasy,doctor\'s office, museum, bar or office!
