A Few Ways to Use Essential Oils
Diffused / Vaporised - Traditional oil burners aren\'t for everyone so why not try a radiator fragrancer or electric Aromastream or Aromastone? Research shows that dispersing oils into the air can reduce bacteria, mould and unpleasant odours, whilst helping you to relax, relieve tension and improve concentration and mental clarity. Of course, they also smell really nice!
Direct Inhalation - Put a few drops on a tissue or use our essential oil inhaler for deep inhalation. This allows the oils to be absorbed very quickly into your system and the benefits can be seen almost immediately. We like lavender or chamomile to help get off to sleep and camphor and eucalyptus for relieving congestion.
Perfume/Cologne - Therapeutic grade essential oils are natural, refreshing and healthy alternatives to synthetic fragrances and deodorants. Floral oils are specifically long lasting and invigorating as perfumes. Experiment with different blends to customise your own personal scent.
Massage - Use one of our pre-blended formulas or mix your own to enjoy the full benefits of the essential oils combined with the physical action of massage to ease muscles and improve circulation.
Compresses - Rub 1-3 drops on the desired location after diluting with a carrier oil. Then cover with a hot, damp towel and leave for 10-30 minutes. There are a wide range of uses from relieving headaches and muscle pain to improving spots.
Cleaning - A few drops of oil can be added to the washing machine or dishwasher to help disinfect and purify. You can also add a few drops in furniture oil to freshen and enhance the wood. Favourites are typically lemon, peppermint, and fresh smelling aromas. I use a tbsp of white vinegar with 3drops of my favourite oil as an alternative to fabric softener.
Using Essential Oils Safely
Remember that essential oils are highly concentrated and should always be diluted to a maximum of 5% before applying to the skin.
Do not ingest the oils - using them through massage and diffusion is very effective and a great deal safer
Keep your oils in a cool, dark place, in the original bottle with the lid on, out of the reach of children and pets
Keep away from the eyes and genital areas
The oils are volatile and can be corrosive so be careful with naked flames keep away from polished surfaces
As with any product, stop using immediately if you suffer any adverse effects
