A lovelyantique English, Georgian-periodsolid sterling silver vinaigrette; beautifully made by John Shaw, with hand engraved designs, a cartouche engraved with the initials \'TU\' (or similar),and hinging open to reveal a gilded interior and pierced and engraved floral grille.
Lovely quality - very collectable indeed!
CONDITION: All original andvery good. Some light signs of wear and faintest denting commensurate with age and use. Wants a good clean and polish.
DATE/MARKS: English hallmark for B\'ham 1809. Maker\'s marksJS.
DIMENSIONS:Lid 36 x 26mm(1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx.19.3 grams.
