QUALITY CAST AUSTRALIAN SOLID SILVER EMU BIRD FIGURE FINIAL ANTIQUE c1880:

A superbly modelled silver emufigural finial. It is marked with a makers mark FB&R and tests as high-grade silver. I was almost certainly made in Australia c1880 possibly once adorning a teapot or egg. It has been beautifullydetailed and well cast from solid sterling silver in the form of an emu. It is in superb condition being free fromdings splits and repairs, the nut moves freely. It measures almost 2 inches (4.7cms) tall excludingthe pin by 1.5 inches (3.8cms) wide and weighs 36 grams. A very well-made unusual piece.
