A very fine and rare large Britannia Standard silver sugar caster made in London in 1706 by the specialist caster maker Christopher Canner the 1st, It is in quite good condition when you consider it is made of the softer Britannia 95% silver, and is over 300 years old!. I have tried to show any blemishes in the photos but the fold to the foot can be seen, the top is a bit dented and the hallmarks are faint but legible. It is very large at 7 1/2in(19cm) tall and weighs an impressive 9oz(255gm).A very fine and rare item from the reign of Queen Anne.
