Description

ITEM: Offered for your consideration and purchase is this EXCEEDINGLY RARE pair of beautiful CAMBRIDGE CROWN TUSCAN pink LAMPS with the encrusted gold ROSE POINT etching. The encrusted gold Rose Point decoration is on Cambridge #278 Crown Tuscan flower holders (vases) which were tastefully mounted on lamp bases. We do not know exactly when these were made but the cords and plugs smack of late 50\'s or 1960\'s and they are exactly as we found them. No changes to wiring or electrical fixtures, line plugs, or switches has been attempted or required as they are in already in good operating order. Although we carefully searched the internet and our numerous books on Cambridge and rare or unusual 20th century glass we were unable to find another existing example of these unique lamps. Accordingly, we feel these are a treasure and a unique opportunity for the serious collector of Cambridge, Crown Tuscan, or Rose Point to add something to your collection which is probably not found in many, if any, other collections ........................ Approximate DIMENSIONS: The vase itself is 10-7/8\" tall and measures 5-1/4\" across the rim. The octagon base measures 5-3/8\" across and the overall height of lamp on base is 12-1/8\". Net (before packing) weight of the pair is just under 5 pounds but double boxing and required extra cushioning will require the use of an oversize outer box (shipping dimensions: 21\" x 21\" x 21\").

CONDITION: ALMOST perfect. As can be seen in the very last picture, there is a tiny flake at the top rim of one lamp. It is very small and would almost be unnoticed once a spot of gold trim has been added but nonetheless you must be aware of this shortcoming. Some of the gold trim on the rims is also a little weak but we see no such problem with the encrusted Rose Point decoration and other than the already mentioned small nick, there are NO chips, nicks, cracks, hairlines, stains, scratches, repairs, or other significant issues of mention.
