This is a stunning, sweeping neck peacock tri handled Early Italian Faiencia Art Nouveau tulip bulb style, long stem rose vase from ca. 1870 to 1880. This incredible example shows vivid telltales of its age, in the eccentric nature of the top & base seating rims, as well as the mold inconsistencies of the relief green hanging bells in the trunk, and the roundel at the collar base. By the 1890s (industrial revolution) molds became much more exacting, than those offered in the first generation of Art Nouveau porcelains. The cover enamels though rich, are not yet the depth of the English & European Majolica enamels, as the flow characteristics and semi gloss finish attests. Both the Italians & Spanish in the 19th century, excelled in the production of vibrant counterpoint colors such as these orange to Royal blue to deep woods green hues. This long stem rose vase form is truly unique and a valuable antique Italian Faiencia.
