Merchant\'s Gargling Oil National Almanac 1883, for the use of Farmers, Planters, Merchants, Mechanics and Families.
32 pp. Softcover in yellow wraps, with an illustration on the front cover. Minor staining, soiling, wrinkling and creasing to the wraps. A few small illustrations in the interior. Hole and string for hanging present. General toning to the paper in the interior. Some uneven fading to the printing
Cover states, \"A liniment for man and beast. Yellow wrapper for animal and white for human flesh.\" A promotional almanac touting the effectiveness of Merchant\'s Gargling Oil in the healing or cure of various ailments for humans and animals. With the usual monthly almanac interspersed with tips for remedying various sicknesses and wounds using the gargling oil. First sold in 1833 by George W. Merchant, this gargling oil was sold in two versions, one for man and one for animals.
