Pictured in numerical-chronologic sequence are the seven (7) front covers, the spines, and the first three (3) and last back covers. These are an original unread and unopenedset of Argosy All-Story Weekly publications includingthe true first publication ofthis classic tale by the master of science fiction, Edgar Rice Burroughs. \'The Chessmen of Mars.\' would not be published in book format for another seven months when published by McClurg on November 22, 1922.

All magazines are unread and unopened with only Environmental damage including storage deterioration showing to a Part 1, Part 3 and Part 7. Damaged issues should be able to be restored. Two (2) generic, fine condition supplemental era magazines included - including a 1925 issue and the February 11, 1922 immediate-predecessor issuewhich containsan advertisement for the upcoming serialized Burroughs tale.

The page-collations of all magazines aretight and crisp, and the publications unused, unread and unopened with condition ranging from (one) Very Good with detached covers to Very Fine. Except Environmental damage as noted, all pages appear present in good condition except as noted with no dog-earred or bent pages. There appears to be no marks or writing inside or out.The pages remain supple, though somewhat fragile at the edges, and with toning or tanning, more so at the edges.. There appears to be no tape or glue on the book. With conditions as estimated, the Catalog Value: $5,290 to $6,225.

Part 1: About fine with moisture damage color transfers at the covers, a triangular chip at the front cover, chips and paper tears at the heel and crown of the spine, back cover is separateddown two inches at the crown of thespine, stains at first and last few pages, waviness at the page edges

Part 2: Fine or better with only minor shelf-wear at edgesor spine

Part 3: Very Good with covers are detached, spine chipped (most chips included), front-cover colors are faded

Part 4: Fine or better with only minor shelf-wear at edgesor spine

Part 5: Fine or better with only minor shelf-wear at edgesor spine

Part 6: Fine or better with only minor shelf-wear at edgesor spine

Part 7: About Fine with moisture damage with color transfers at the covers, wavy cover and pages, covers separating, chips to front cover, spine with a paper tear and minor chipping
