This amazing and beautiful composition baby doll is \"Bubbles\" by Effanbee doll co. She is marked \"Walk-talk-sleep\" and dated 1924.
Bubbles is in incredibly nice condition despite her age of nearly 100 years, Her composition still has its high color and luster sheen to it. Very minimal crazing (what is there you must examine her very closely to even notice) She has nice original pink blushing on her cheeks, chubby hands and knees. Her firmly stuffed cloth body has a crier inside which no longer makes noise. Bubbles has the chubby dimply baby body, she is 21\" tall when you measure her along the contour of her bent baby legs, or 19\" if you measure her just laying on her back from head to toe.
Her pretty bright blue open and close eyes function perfectly and are made of tin. Please zoom in on all photos for closer detail, she is such a beauty! Some minor paint wear to her tips of her fingers, the top of her molded blond painted hair also has some paint lifting (shown clearly in the photos)she has an open rosebud mouth to take a bottle and 2 little pearly white baby teeth on top. This precious baby looks so real and she poses perfectly like a real baby would, when you hold her she feels cuddly and real in your arms!
Bubbles is wearing her RARE factory original organdy embroidered dress and matching ruched/smocked and embroidered bonnet with rows of ruffles that frame her beautiful face perfectly! This dress is RARELY seen. it is a very pale yellow with brown thread edging on the ruffles. Underneath her gorgeous dress she has on her original slip and panties (dress and slip both pin closed in back) Her dress, bonnet and panties are very very fragile, there are some expected damages to the fabric from age due to it\'s delicate nature (organdy fabric), many of the areas where there is damage has been carefully and lovingly reinforced with fusion tape to keep the fabric intact and maintain them from deteriorating further. Her outfit is just outstanding, despite its flaws, you could put her in another dress set if you chose to, but she displays so perfectly in her dress as long as she is handled extremely carefully, the outfit should hold up fine. From the front view, they are quite unapparent (see photos) On her feet she has sweet felt baby booties which were handmade to look exactly like her original leatherette bootie shoes. Bubbles has a hang tag with her name on it. \"This is Bubbles, bubbling over with life and laughter, an Effanbee doll\".
Most Bubbles dolls were not marked with the date as 1924, which is when she was first created, her marking on her back shoulder plate is very very rare. You will absolutely fall in love with this sweet baby, she displays beautifully as you can see in her photos.Please message us with questions if we have left out any details which are important to you.
