This is a hard to find design, this may be one that was not duplicated often or at all, unlike the very common snake design.
This is a rare piece, I have only seen a bracelet in this design before and it is sold.
Margot van Voorhies Carr (Margot De Taxco)is greatly known for her enamel sterling pieces. Her designs were inspired by Japanese art. She passed on in 1985 and her pieces are greatly collectable.
This necklace is a choker style measuring 15 1/2\" x 3/4\".A heavy piece for its size at 95.6g. The golden grape clusters with their vibrant green leavesare very unique. Please see pictures for enamel loss, what most affects the pieceis the yellow enamel loss to just two grapes that are on clusters towards the end. This piece is circa 1940\'s. The locking clasp works great.
***I can\'t recommend further cleaning to this piece due to its age. At most only silver cream polish can gently be used. No dips or liquids because that would cause damage.***
This piece is in very good condition for vintage and is hallmarked: Made In Mexico Sterling, Eagle Mark 16, Margot De Taxco, and 5545 (which happens to be the design number for this particular enamel design).
