This is a wonderful ANTIQUE CIRCA 1850 WOOD AND CARVED BONE ? VICTORIAN POWDER SHAKER FOR WIGS OR TIGHT GLOVES. The shaker is 3 1/8\" tall and 1 5/8\" in diameter. The condition is excellent. The only thing I see is, what I believe, is a grain flaw that looks like a crack. I do not believe it is a crack because it does not go through the wood to the inside. I just noticed it the picture. It is not noticeable when you just look at it. The carved bone (I think it is bone) is beautifully speckled. It might be horn. I am not sure. There are three pieces. The wood bottom screws on and off. The top of the shaker unscrews. Inside the main vessel, there is a note that reads \"For Powdering tight gloves\". There are remnants of powder inside, also. My guess on the age is 1850. It would make a great vanity item or great treen collectible. Email me with any questions.
