RARE ANTIQUE CIRCA 1870\'s PERSIAN QASHQAI TRIBAL CARPET W/ANIMAL MOTIFS 5.2 x 7.9 CIRCA late 1800\'s approx size : 5.2\" x 7.9\" slightly crooked as seen. Please learn to ask all questions before offerding. This is a fabulous piece in a large size. Photos taken in direct sunlight. A very flexible piece with an all wool foundation with a wool pile. Fine weave for this type. Shows some abrash in the field. Ends overcasted. The pile is fairly even and very low (never was a thick rug) to the knot heads or close to them. There is a little foundation showing, mostly by the animal motifs. A few small. crude repairs and one 3\" slit at one end that was sown and coming loose. Selvedges are mostly OK with minor unraveling. Nice colors and all seem to be fast.This rug is fresh to the market. Great investment piece. Photos were taken outside in full sunlight.
As always, I recommend a good cleaning of all rugs when changing hands.
