VERY RARE ANTIQUE SOLID SILVER AND GILT BOX BY SAMPSON MORDAN HALLMARKED TOP AND BOTTOM FOR CHESTER 1911This plain silver rectangular box with curved lip to front top is absolutely classically beautiful, simple in design and gilded to the interior.
It has two sets of English hallmarks, they are inside the lid and also on the base of the box with Sampson Morden mark. S M & CoIt also has 22 mark inside the lid which could be for 22 carat gold gilding but I really do not know and two further punch marks which I cannot make out, these are also seen on the front lid.This beautiful box measures 6 cm long, 3 cm wide and 2 cm deep and weighs 38.2 grams.The silver is all in excellent condition, I have only lightly cleaned it for the photoAny white marks are photo glare only.Lovely collectors item and a very attractive and exceptional example of it\'s kind , please study all photos.Happy to answer any questionsThank you for looking
