RARE ANTIQUE THOMAS EDISON TALKING PHONOGRAPH DOLL FROM 1890 NO RESERVE:
$2214.89

Hello everyone, and thanks for looking! Please read the entire description of this item. Up for sale is this very rare doll from my mother\'s collection. It is the talking doll made by Thomas Edison. This was the last doll my mother was working on before she fell ill, and she was never able to finish restoring her. The overall condition of this doll is quite good. The head is excellent, and is the correct Simon & Halbig #719 mold. She has brown fixed glass eyes, and a brown mohair wig. Includes pate. The body is made of tin, and unfortunately, does not contain the player mechanism. The right hand shows a finger repair in progress, and the lower legs were in the process of having the knee joints redone. Please refer to the pictures. Clothes include cotton pantaloons and slip, stockings, and a very nice, period-correct, light pink satin and lace dress. I\'m not sure of the material of the dress, it may be silk, but could also be a synthetic. There is on this doll. Shipping will be a flat $20 to the lower 48, via FedEx Home Delivery, and will be insured. Rest assured, she will be well-packed for her journey. I have shipped many antique dolls and doll parts, and have never had any shipping damage. Please check my response, and offer with confidence. I would consider shipping this to another country, but you must ask me first, as I do not ship everywhere. Good luck, and thanks for looking!

On Apr-03-15 at 07:26:44 PDT, seller added the following information:

After receiving a question from a potential buyer, I looked at the doll again, and there does appear to be a small chip on the back side of the right earring hole. At first, it looked like just the paint was missing. Also, there is a small, (about 1/4\") hairline in the area where the left ear meets the head. I thought it was just dirty. I also noticed a tiny hairline coming from the left earring hole, maybe 1/16\" long. I am not a doll expert, and am trying my best to describe the condition, but my eyesight is not what it used to be, unfortunately...
