++++SPECIAL CLEARANCE SALE PRICE NOW FOR LIMITED TIME ONLY++++OFFERS CONSIDEREDA MAGNIFICENT AND VERY RARE antique, Art Nouveau to early Art Deco, Royal Copenhagen fine porcelain Vase of Japanese-style form, decoration, and subject; fairly heavy, measuring7 ins. (17.8 cm) H x about 4-1/2 ins. (11.4 cm) max. W, Factory First Quality; Mark of 1898-1922.The Vase, Form 108, was designed in about 1894 by noted Royal Copenhagen Artistic Director Arnold Krog (1856-1931). It was expertly hand-painted by R.C. artist E. Gad, who was at R.C. from 1893 into the 1930s.The art work is all around the vase. Remarkably well detailed, it depicts two Wild Rambling Rose flowers of pink color with yellow centers, together with stems and leaves. The highly prized Wild Rose (Rosa multiflora) is native to China, called Ch\'iang Wei; Korea and Japan, the Eijitsu; appropriately displayed here on the fine white porcelain ground below, with Japanese \"Midnight Blue\" (deep cobalt) as upper background -- reminiscent of Meiji art and truly exquisite. The much admired Japanese style of the Art Nouveau period was introduced to Royal Copenhagen by Arnold Krog. The Vase is also an excellent example of the unique R.C. underglaze decoration for which the factory was awarded the Grand Prix at the Paris Universal Exposition in 1889, and many awards thereafter. This Vase is indeed a fine and beautiful art work and a very rare piece!
