We are honored to be able to introduce to you the “Maltz Baird Clock Collection”. This is one of the rarest and most important clock collections in the world today. Consisting of many 1 of 1 or \"only\" examples known.

The Baird clock has always been at the top end and the most prized of the Antique Advertising Clock world. These clocks were only produced from 1887 to 1897 for various companies to Advertise their products.Not many original clocks survived.

In the world of Baird Clock Collecting, emerged an expert collector; Mr. Jerry Maltz, who sought after the best of the best, all original clocks. For over 40 years he searched the world over, always looking for that “never seen before” Baird clock. In 1998 he wrote a book on the subject of Baird Advertising Clocks and included photographs and stories of some of his rarest and special clocks. He has given many talks and seminars on the subject.

In what we believe to be an opportunity of a lifetime, you now have a chance to own one of these beautiful 120 year old clocks, right out of the pages of Mr. Maltzs’ Book. This is the First Known Coca-Cola Advertising Clock ModelEver Produced!
Right out of the Private Collection of Mr. Jerry Maltz (he has owned this clock for over 25 years) and found on Page 13 of his book, Baird Advertising Clocks.Edward Baird produced the first line of Coca-Cola advertising clocks according to several resources including the Petretti\'s Coca-Cola Collectibles Guide. There are many variations throughout Baird\'s clock production; however, this is the oldest and rarest model known to exist. This model is the earliest knownCoca-Cola advertising clock in Coca-Cola\'s history. It features the earlyBaird quartered wooden doors, rounded base, and rosettes. This Baird clock is described by Mr. Jerry Maltz as a transitional piece in Baird history dating it to be fromthe 1889 era from when Edward Baird moved his production from Montreal, Canadato Plattsburg, NY This clock features the \"Coca-Cola\"script logo andthe slogan\"The Ideal Brain Tonic,\" on the door enclosing the dial;theslogans \"Delightful Summer and Winter Beverage\" and \"Specific for Headache\" areon the visible pendulum door at the bottom. It retains its original paper on tin dial and Seth Thomas movement. This is the same clock found on page 13 of Jerry Maltz\' Book Baird Advertising Clocks, where he describes the clock as follows: \"This particular model of the COCA COLA clock has the doors made of quartered wood glued together. The center of the doors are grooved two and one half inches to permit the paper mache advertising to be glued into it. The glass on the bottom door is three and one half inches wide. It retains the rosettes which, on this clock were used for advertising the price of the product.\" As mentioned above, this sale also includes a copy of Baird Advertising Clocks, personally signed by Mr. Jerry Maltz.

There are a few imperfections that add to the character of this 120 year old clock, including patina and some marred edges. See photos for detail.Key and pendulum are included with each clock. All of the clocks from this collection wind and run; however, as with all 120 year old clocks, their timing may not be accurate and they can be temperamental. Key and Pendulum are included.
