I collect these and this is the finest one from my collection!This sale is for a RARE 1956 UNITED DAVY CROCKETT MODEL 353 ANIMATED LIGHTED MOTION CLOCK. The dial is marked United and the back is marked United Clock Corp. Brooklyn N.Y. Model 353 along with other information. On the bottom in the front the clock case is engraved DAVY CROCKETT. So Mint that in fact all original lettering on clock back and bottom is clear and intact (usally missing on most examples!)
The clock has the Sessions type motor movement. The clock measures approx. 10 & 1/2\"H x 8 & 1/2\" at the base. The clock is metal and gold finish. The animated motion part of the clock is there is an Indian scene inside the clock that rotates around as the clock is running as if the Indian\'s are running on the war path and Davy Crockett is looking through the forest scene watching the Indian\'s which can be viewed from the front and back of the clock. There is also a red jewel in the center of the dial that rotates while the clock is running. As you can view in the photos the area of the animation scene lights up and there is a light switch to turn the light off or on. The clock is really neat to watch at night with the light on which lights up yellow. There is no damage to the clock case, dial, scenes etc. TO SUM UP THE CLOCK THE CLOCK KEEPS ACCURATE TIME, THE ANIMATION WORKS, THE LIGHT AND LIGHT SWITCH WORKS AND THE MOTOR IS QUIET.
This clock is made by United not Mastercrafters since Mastercrafters never made a Davy Crockett clock. I added Mastercrafters in the title for those who didn\'t know United made these animated clocks.
