A Rare Small Antique Georgian / Early Regency French Micro Beaded Ladies Grand Tour Souvenir Purse dated to between 1810-1825 - With Beaded French Phrase MON SOUVENIR SARDES (My Sardinian Souvenir)

Description

Based on the design and materials used, I would date this purse to between 1810 and 1825 (or possibly even a little earlier). The purse is a classic ITALIAN GRAND TOUR souvenir. It was probably made in Sardinia (then the Kingdom of Sardinia) or in France for the Sardinian tourist market.
The purse is made of a beaded body - the tiny glass beads are knotted together without a crocheted or knitted underbase which must have been painstaking work. The pattern shows a large flower basket and smaller yellow flowers near the top. Along the very top edge the following French phrase was made with black beads MON SOUVENIR SARDES, which translates as My Sardinian Souvenir.
The purse measures 4.25\" long/high and 4\" wide.
The purse is in excellent, unused(unmounted) condition, with the exception of a large antique black ink stain on one side (see photos) - this may have been the reason why it never had a drawstring closure added to it.

Packaging and postage with insurance, tracking and registration to the UK via Airmail will cost £7.00, within Europe via Airmail £7.00 (ca. 9.00 Euro), overseas via Airmail £7.10 (ca. US$10.00).
