A RARE FIND from a watch collector\'s estate! A beautifully crafted antique Victorian era men\'s 10K SOLID yellow goldpocket watch chain.
The total gross weight of the chain is 81.3 grams.
PLEASE NOTE: The chain is NOT marked as to the gold content so I paid to have the metal tested using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis;the actual gold content , as stated in the report is 9.954 KT. (a copy of the report will be included in the shipment).
The chain, as measured from the end of the pocket watch clasp to the end of the fob clasp is approximately 16 inches; with the T Bar and itschain measuring approximately 1.5 inches from the circular ring. The long and short links of the chain have a very intricate design of differentshapes and patterning; each link is symmetric in its design. Both clasps are large, sturdy and fully functional; the size should accommodatemost any size pocket watch and fob.
There are very light scratches throughout the chain, with a very small dent to either side of the fob clasp and a ding to the T Bar (as seen inpicture no. 9 on the left side). On each of the 1-1/4\" links there are 4 long rectangular pieces that have a thin rectangular cutout in the center;there is some gentle downward bowing / curvature / depression to the overall length of some of these pieces (mostly seen under magnification);in other words, these pieces are NOT perfectly flat.
