RARE Atomic Bombs End WWII Enola Gay Paul Tibbets Rescinded US Stamp Collection:
$6.99

This is a set of two poster stamps issued to commemorate the use of the atomic bomb in World War 2. The first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb, the Enola Gay, was piloted by Colonel Paul W. Tibbets and targeted Hiroshima, Japan. A second bomb was later dropped on Nagasaki. This led to the surrender of Japan to the Allies in World War 2 in August of 1945. These stamps are based on a design created for use by the United States Postal Service, but the USPS stamp was rescinded after protests from the Japanese government in 1994. These stamps are cinderella stamps and were not issued by the USPS and are not valid for postage. The smaller stamp is in mint, never hinged with dry gum condition. The larger stamp is in mint, never hinged self-adhesive condition. It is much less commonly seen and is unusual as there is no space between the \"WW\" and \"II\" as is seen in the dry gum variety. They would make an interesting addition to any collection of World War 2 memorabilia, United States or Japanese history or cinderella stamps. FREE clear plastic protective display holders included! NEW SPECIAL BONUS OFFER: One \"History Denied\" informational card is now included with every purchase for FREE! Thanks for looking!
