Interesting old German quality violin with Mother of pearls inlays in good condition. Presumably around 1920s - German Maggini violin with the typical double inlaid purfling and the extra twist on the scroll - edges on front and back are decorated with wooden inlays. There are 2 former repaired lines (one near the soundpost area) on the front, but no open cracks or open seams. In our workshop it received a new set up with ebony pegs, chinrest and tailpiece, a new bridge and new strings. These are new silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin!
