The Kämmer &Reinhardt antique doll factory manufactured inWaltershausen, Germany, and from 1886 to 1909 made only dolly-face dolls.Was one of the leading doll factories ofits time. This company was undoubtedly influenced by Marion B. Kaulitz, theinstigator of the 1908 puppen reform. KR company caused quite a stir when itintroduced its KR character dolls on bent-limb body at the 1909 MUNICH exhibit.The development of character dolls, which were modelled after real children,was an innovative progression of the Germany doll industry.

20\" (49 cm.) Perfect bisque socket head depicting a slightly-older lad,small brown glass sleep eyes in deeply-set sockets,fringed upper lashes,one-stroke tapered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth modeled as though open with defined space between the lips and two painted upper teeth,brunette mohair bobbed wig,composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition is generally excellent. Marks incised in the back \" K&R 112 49\"in the lower neck. Gorgeous rarest character doll from the Art Reform series by Kammer and Reinhardt,circa 1912. the rare glass-eyed version of the 112 art character,in rare-to-find larger size,has superb bisque and sculpting,very artistic painting of lips,shading and glaze,and is wearing a superb antique boy\'s costume of green khaki wool with jacket,knickers and cap,along with shirt,tie,socks,and black leather shoes.
