Gorgeous 9 1/4\" Humber Shape Tray Platter - Royal Winton Grimwades - Black & Gold Trim OFFLEY Pattern - Made in EnglandThis hard to find pattern was made from 1938. The Guides say it had very limited production and may have been mainly for export. Most pieces are found in Brown. This is the highly desirable BLACK background. It is on the Humber shape tray which has an unusual shape. Itmeasures approximately 9 1/4\"
Long by 6 3/8\" Wide by 1 1/2\" High. The handles appear scalloped and curl at the edges. The tray is in EXCELLENT condition, bright and shiny gloss with gold trim. There are a few pinpoint type manufacturing bumps or flaws on rear side and light crazing to the top and bottom. The tray has a few spots of gold wear, and roughness where gold is gone, but hardly noticeable without 4x magnification. (See Images) They appear to be through the glaze but are not chips. Its 80 years old and still beautiful!! A Rare and extremely hard pattern to find in black. A wonderful addition to any Chintz or Floral collection!
