Up for your consideration is a VERY RARE authentic original EARLY c.1940\'s figural ceramic art pottery toby mug handcrafted / signed by well known high quality maker ROYAL DOULTON of ENGLAND! Mug is titled \"AULD MAC\" #D5823 and depicts a thrifty Scot! Auld Mac has been credited for \"BANG WENT SAXPENSE\" during a trip to London he spend soxpense before he had time to turn around. This phrase is found on the back and side of his cap! He was modeled by Harry Fenton, the handle is made to look like Brier wood! Bottom of mug is equipped with the EARLY green lion a a top crown \"A\" mark dating it to the 1940\'s! This is also the EXTRA LARGE version making it even more desirable!!! Piece shows amazing craftsmanship, quality and detail throughout! Extremely well made weighing 1 LB 6.8 OZ and measuring a staggering 8 Inches X 6 1/2 Inches X 5 1/2 Inches.
