Very finely painted. The bowl is decorated in polychrome colours - Swatow : Iron red , green and turquoise. Very bold and very beautiful.
This bowl is large for Swatow ware / bowls . Additionally it is , we believe a marriage / wedding bowl so is doubly rare.
Please see the double symbols painted for the happiness of the couple. Hares , ducks , doves and fish
Please check the pictures thoroughly to assess the condition. There are nibbles on the rim , there is crazing , wear and 3 hairlines. Not surprising given age and composition...
Approx.10 inches / 250 mm in diameter and 5 inches deep . Weighs 1.56 KG ...
It displays very well... Excellent border detail - very fine.
