DESCRIPTION----- . Here we have a Rare and important Pair of Large Chinese antique Qianlong marked Mirrored Charger plates with Rosewood stands. These had been in the same family for over 70 years and these were sold in 1998 at the prestigious New York Armory show. They were originaly sold for $14,000.00 at that time. They may be the largest "Pair" of mirrored chargers you will find. The woman who sold these wrote that it would have taken the kiln possibly 100-150 attempts to get the right size before it cracked in the kiln. Almost impossible to get such a size made of mirrored likeness. So, hundreds would be fired and only come up with 2. These are possibly done at the imperial kilns because of their size and artwork. They have incredible famille Rose colors and deep Verte greens as well. Signed on the back and having each one marked and the same size of 60cm or 24" accross. They have their original Brass thick heavy hangers which i known were made around 1880 and I would think these are possibly Guangxu period ca.1880-90 and Extremely rare to find such a pair. Hand carved Large Rosewood stands that rise up 38 cm in the back and are 45 wide. I had just seen a pair of stands sell for over $1000 just for the stands. NO chips, cracks or repairs.
