This fantastic double bowl pipe is Tikar tribalBronze lost-wax casting art at its highest development, tastefully detailed, well balanced and symmetrical. The highly imaginative and wonderfully executed design of two chameleons wrapping themselves around two Tobacco pipe bowls is entrancing. The chameleon motif often symbolizes the transformative power of the diviner/healer, and its ability to change to meet any situation makes it a symbol of wisdom. The two pipe bowls protrude from the top of the figure\'s head, which itselfprojects wide-eyed and open eared alertness. This extraordinary piece was formerly owned by Mr. Walter J. Burns Jr., who had an antique shop in Greenwich Village, NYC in the 70\'s-80\'s, and was an avante-garde filmmaker and part-time collaborator with Andy Warhol during that time.

This is African tribal lost wax bronzecasting at its finest. A unique piece in my experience - I have never seen another one quite like it.
