Rare Edwardian English novelty sterling silver asparagus tongs. They are hallmarked for Birmingham1905 with the maker’s marks being that of William Hutton & Sons Ltd. They have been designed in the form of a wishbone andhave been sprung i.e. once the two ends are brought together they automaticallyspring back to their original open position. They are in perfect conditionbeing free from dings splits and repairs and are still highly sprung and fullyfunctioning. They measure approx. 4 inches (10cms) long by 2 inches (5.1cms)wide and weigh 20 grams. Interesting Edwardian novelties by a quality maker.
