RARE J.C. HIGGINS VINTAGE WESTERN SADDLEHISTORY: From 1908 until 1962, Sears, Roebuck & Company sold a wide variety of sporting goods and recreational equipment including saddles and rifles, under the brand name \"J.C. Higgins.\"

DESCRIPTION: This is one of the few remaining early 1900’s J.C. Higgin’s saddles made for the Sears & Robuck Co. There are no BA marks on saddle that I can find. The saddle is a complete original package of rigging, complete with the original J.C. Higgins bucking bronco brand on saddle in front of the saddle horn. It features beautiful floral detailed leather tooling on the skirt and fenders. The leather is still pliable and in great shape for a vintage saddle. Rideable! Stirrups have a heavy stitched leather covering. The tree is solid as a rock. 4 leather conchos, (one was replaced) Sheep skin/lamb’s wool liner still thick and fluffy. Left latigo holder needs replacement. Only the top half remains. Front rigging dee and back appear to be heavy brass,…real nice. Skirt/ strings, billet straps, stirrup leathers, fenders, seat, horn everything in nice shape. Comes complete with original front breast collar and heavy leather cinch strap. A real piece of early Americana. Additional photos available upon request. Shipping: We use the safest shipping cartons and cushion with bubble wrap or Styrofoam loose fill as appropriate. Insurance is always added for items over $100 and the charges (they are very reasonable) are included in your total payment.
