For those interested in the classic Jensen history with Alnico:

One of the firstspeakers ever used in a guitar amplifier was a Jensen® Alnico speaker - theP15N. The first Fender® Bassman® and Bandmaster® amplifiers were loaded withJensen® P15N Alnico speakers. In fact, Fender® and other amp manufacturersoriginally used Alnico speakers exclusively in their amplifiers . The P10R wasthe signature speaker in Fender\'s legendary Super Reverb®.

Alnico speakers are madewith magnets containing aluminum, nickel and cobalt. They are often featured inprint as “AlNiCo”, symbolizing the three respective elements. Cobalt isdifficult to procure these days resulting in Alnicos being the most expensivespeakers in the Jensen® line.
