Hello, Please note this item obviously needs to be properly cleaned and seasoned before use.From my research John Savery & Sons marked cast iron was advertised as early as 1854 and sold on Cliff St. NY. Later versions of this style waffle maker where marked J. Savery & Sons and where advertised in the 1890s. This piece is marked John Savery\'s Sons, So I believe this is a very early piece of New York history. I planned on cleaning this myself but proper seasoning will be tricky as multiple thin layers of oil will need to be applied to all the nooks. So I I\'ll leave it to a pro.
