Description:
Herman Miller commissioned this design from the great Japanese sculptor Isamu Noguchi in 1946. The biomorphic black lacquered wood base supports an oblong 1" thick glass top, creating a fusion of sculptural beauty and refined simplicity.
This design, along with Charles Eames and George Nelson also of Herman Miller, and Eero Sarinen, Harry Pertoia and Warren Platner for Knoll International, and Verner Panton, Arne Jacobsen, and Alvar Aalto for Fritz Hansen elevated Mid Century Modern design to a true art form.
The condition is exceptional with no damage.
