Description

A fine & rare set of 5 Japanese wine/beer cups/glasses in high-fired hard ceramic with box. all 5 tall cups have almos identical hand-painted designs around their circumferences: a British nobleman in typical royal outfit with sword-hat & wig posing in front of a galleon, a rickshaw puller with his Geisha-dressed lady customer, 2 noble ladies in their Victorian fashions. The details are highlighted in semi-raised colourful enamels, dark blue on the cups\' lower ends & interior. They fitnicely in the original wooden box. Marked in Kanji at the cups\' bottoms, on the box\'s lid & \"Arita\" logo on one (of ^) interior partitions.

SIZE: cups 4\"~101mm H(igh) x 2.9\"-1.75\" ~ 73mm-44mm D(iameter, top-base respectively). Each cup weighs 151gr+, total weight (box included) 2.13lbs~966grs
CONDITION:Excellent, appears unused.
