WELCOME TO OUR sale! FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION ON THIS PAGE WE HAVE AN AMAZING AND VERY RARE SID DICKENS MEMORY BLOCK!

THIS BLOCK HAILS FROM THE VERY EARLY DAYS OF WHAT WOULD BECOME DICKENS\' WILDLY POPULAR AND HIGHLY COLLECTABLE LINE OF MEMORY BLOCKS. PRODUCTION OF THIS BLOCK PRE-DATES THE INTRODUCTION OF PLASTER AS A PRIMARY COMPONENT IN THE MANUFACTURE OF DICKENS\' MEMORY BLOCKS AND IS ENTIRELY COMPOSED OF WOOD. WE CAN CONFIRM THAT THIS BLOCK WAS RETIRED DECEMBER 21, 1994.

THESE EARLY BLOCKS WERE NOT ASSIGNED TITLES BUT THE IMAGE ON THIS BLOCK REAPPEARS IN 1996 ON THE PQ43 BLOCK WITH THE TITLE \'MEDIEVAL ROSE\'. DICKENS\' USE OF THIS IMAGE CAN ALSO BE FOUND ON THE T35 BLOCK.

IT IS DIFFICULT TO ASSESS THE CONDITION OF A WOODEN BLOCK THIS OLD AS THIS BLOCK IS THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND THAT WE HAVE HAD THE GOOD FORTUNE TO HAVE OWNED. THAT SAID, WE BELIEVE THIS BLOCK TO BE IN GOOD TO VERY GOOD CONDITION. THERE IS PAINT LOSS, AS EXPECTED WITH AGE, BUT THE MAJORITY OF THIS LOSS IS CONFINED TO THE SIDES OF THE BLOCK. ADDITIONAL LOSS CAN BE SEEN ACROSS THE TOP PART OF THE FRONT OF THE BLOCK. THE IMAGE IS STILL INTACT AND CLEARLY VISIBLE. THE \'CRACKING\' OR \'CRAZING\' ON THE FACE OF THE BLOCK IS INTENDED BY THE ARTIST AND IS NOT DAMAGE. WE PURCHASED THIS BLOCK IN 2008-09 FROM AN EXTREMELY REPUTABLE SELLER IN VANCOUVER, A SELLER WHO REGULARLY SELLS RARE AND/OR ONE OF A KIND BLOCKS. THIS BLOCK HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED OR ALTERED IN ANY WAY SINCE IT HAS BEEN IN OUR POSSESSION AND IS BELIEVED TO BE IN ORIGINAL CONDITION. DUE TO THE RARITY OF THIS BLOCK WE EMPHASIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF USING THE PHOTOS AS THE BEST AND MOST DEFINITIVE DESCRIPTION OF THIS ITEM; PLEASE VIEW THESE PHOTOS IN MAGNIFIED FORM.
